Abstract:
A casing (1) for a railroad vehicle device is provided with a reinforcing member (11) and at least one first exterior member (14a, 14b). The reinforcing member (11) has a first support member (12) extending in an X-axis direction, and a plurality of second support members (13), which are plate-shaped members fixed to the first support member (12) in an orientation such that the main surfaces intersect with the X-axis direction. The first exterior members (14a, 14b) are thin plate-shaped members which cover the periphery of the reinforcing member (11), which are fixed to side surfaces of the second support members (13), and which form casing surfaces (10a, 10b) aligned with the X-axis direction. In each of the first exterior members (14a, 14b), cut-away parts (17a, 17b) are formed, which extend in a direction intersecting the X-axis direction from both ends along the direction intersecting the X-axis direction. An opening (15) is formed by the cut-away parts (17a, 17b) in at least either one of the casing surfaces (10a, 10b) aligned with the X-axis direction.
