Abstract:
The present invention provides cast iron which has high specific heat and therefore enables the reduction in weight of a brake part or the like.
The cast iron according to the present invention has a chemical component composition comprising, in mass%, 3.0 to 4.8% of C, 3.5 to 5.0% of Si, 0.5 to 2.0% of Mn and 0.3 to 1.5% of Cu, with the remainder made up by Fe and unavoidable impurities.
