Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a caster brake device that has a simple structure, that achieves reliable braking, and that is highly durable with no risk of damaging the circumferential surface of a wheel. The present invention provides a caster brake device wherein a plurality of protruding parts 19 are formed on both side surfaces of a wheel 7, so as to be concentric and evenly spaced, in directions parallel to the shaft center; levers 16 are set on both side plates 5b, 5b of a fork 5 so as to be opposed to the protruding parts with the wheel being straddled by the levers; claws 16a are formed at the distal ends of the levers so as to be opposed to the protruding parts; and the levers are operated to engage the claws with recessed sections 19b formed between the protruding parts, thereby locking rotation of the wheel.
