Abstract:
This casting die (4) for forming a cavity (3), i.e. a casting space, is provided with: a lower mould (4L), i.e. a die main body; and sprue pieces (8), i.e. split moulds which are mated to the lower mould (4L), and which form sections required to thermally separate the lower mould (4L). In the casting die, gaps (S) are formed between the lower mould (4L) and the sprue pieces (8), and a facing material (B) is provided in the gaps (S). Accordingly, the casting die is provided with a thermal control function which, not only maintains the temperature of and insulates the sprue pieces (8), but also insulates sections of the lower mould (4L) in the vicinity of the sprue pieces (8). As a result, labour associated with casting preparation is reduced, and the time taken for said casting preparation is shortened.
