Abstract:
A casting process for producing a brake caliper (1) that has a receiving space (2) for functional components such as a brake application mechanism with a brake lever, and an outside flange face (4) to which a brake cylinder can be attached, wherein a core (6) that defines the receiving space (2) is positioned in a casting mould before casting commences. The process is designed so that in the casting mould there is also a separate mould part (7) for forming the flange face (4).
