Abstract:
Provided are a catalyst-carrier carbon material for solid polymer fuel cells and a method for manufacturing the same, the carbon material being a porous carbon material that simultaneously satisfies: (1) the content degree of crystallized material is 1.6 or less, (2) a BET specific surface area determined through BET analysis of a nitrogen gas adsorption isothermal line is 400-1500 m2/g, (3) the cumulative pore volume V2-10 in a pore diameter range of 2-10 nm determined through analysis of the nitrogen gas adsorption isothermal line using the Dollimore-Heal method is 0.4-1.5 mL/g, and (4) the nitrogen gas adsorption amount Vmacro at a relative pressure of 0.95-0.99 with respect to the nitrogen gas adsorption isothermal line is 300-1200 cc (STP)/g.
