Abstract:
Provided is a catalyst for electrodes which has catalytic activity and durability on such levels that the catalyst is applicable to practical use, as compared with conventional Pt/C catalysts, and which can contribute to a cost reduction. The catalyst for electrodes comprises a support and catalyst particles supported on the support. The catalyst particles each comprise a core, a first shell part formed on the core, and a second shell part formed on the first shell part. The core comprises tungsten compounds at least including a tungsten carbide, the first shell part comprises elemental Pd, and the second shell part comprises elemental Pt.
