Abstract:
The present invention relates to: a novel catalyst for preparing a transportation fuel precursor from a biomass-derived furan-based compound; and a method for preparing a polymer of a furan-based compound by using the same. The catalyst for preparing a transportation fuel precursor, according to the present invention, does not use a strong acid such as sulfuric acid, and thus does not require a complex process for the separation and recovery of remaining strong acid and is environmentally friendly. In addition, the catalyst has a very wide surface area, thereby having an excellent conversion rate, has high selectivity for a desired product and has excellent cycle characteristics. Further, since the acid strength of a terminal acidic functional group and the degree of hydrophobicity are further strengthened using an ionic liquid as a linking group, a more excellent yield and conversion rate can be exhibited.
