Abstract:
Disclosed are a catalyst for preparing maleic acid by means of the catalytic oxidation of furfural and the use of the catalyst in the preparation of maleic acid by means of the catalytic oxidation of furfural. The catalyst is a mixture of a bromide and a base. The catalyst has a higher conversion rate of furfural and a higher yield of maleic acid, with the conversion rate of furfural reaching up to 99% and the yield of maleic acid being up to 68.04%, a strong catalytic selectivity, and can be reused.
