Title:
CATALYST FOR PRODUCING METHACROLEIN AND METHACRYLIC ACID, AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCTION THEREOF
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/063771
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a molybdenum-containing composite oxide catalyst which can be used in the production of methacrolein by the vapor phase catalytic oxidation of isobutylene or the like, and provides a catalyst having high activity, excellent reduction resistance and heat resistance and a long catalytic life and a process for producing the catalyst.
The catalyst is used for producing methacrolein or the like by the oxidation and/or oxidative dehydrogenation of at least one compound selected from isobutylene and the like in a vapor phase with molecular oxygen or the like, and is characterized by being produced by a production process which comprises the steps of: (1) preparing an aqueous slurry (A) containing at least molybdenum and bismuth as constituent elements; (2) preparing an aqueous slurry (B) containing at least molybdenum and cerium; (3) mixing the aqueous slurry (A) with the aqueous slurry (B); (4) drying a liquid material produced by mixing the aqueous slurry (A) with the aqueous slurry (B); and (5) burning the resulting dried material.
