Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a catheter and a catheter assembly that have a low impact on a body, are highly safe, can minimize the occurrence of crushing and kinking, and exhibit small changes in physical properties even if caused to deform within the body. A guiding catheter (1) that has a catheter body (2), said catheter body being provided with an inner layer (22) that has a lumen (21) on the radially inward side, an outer layer (23) that is positioned on the radially outward side of the inner layer (22), and a reinforcement part (24) that is made from reinforcement wire (25) and is positioned between the inner layer (22) and the outer layer (23), wherein the following expressions (1) through (3) are satisfied, where D is the outer diameter of the catheter body (2), Tc is the wall thickness of the catheter body (2), and Ti is the wall thickness of the inner layer (22). Expression (1): D≤2.6mm; expression (2): 0.025≤Ti/Tc≤0.05; expression (3): 0.006mm≤Ti≤0.015mm.
