Abstract:
This catheter assembly (10) includes a catheter (12), a catheter hub (20), an inner needle (14), and an inner needle hub (30). Also, the catheter assembly (10) is provided with: a blunt needle (16) which is disposed in a hollow part (14a) axially extending inside the inner needle (14) and has a blunt tip part that is blunter than a needle tip (15); and a moving mechanism (17) moving the blunt needle (16). The moving mechanism (17) is formed separate from the catheter hub (20) and allows the tip of the blunt needle (16) to protrude further than the needle tip according to the movement of the catheter (12).
