Abstract:
The shaft (12) of a catheter (10) comprises: a first shaft section (26); a second shaft section (24) located on the proximal end side of the first shaft section (26); and markers (28, 30) indicating distances from the distal end of the shaft (12). The second shaft section (24) has a flat section (39) located closer to the proximal end than the markers (28, 30). The outer shape of a transverse-cross section of the flat section (39) taken perpendicularly to the axial direction of the shaft (12) has a major diameter (d2) and a minor diameter (d3), and the major diameter (d2) of the flat section (39) is greater than the outer diameter (d1) of the first shaft section (26).
