Abstract:
Provided is a catheter which can be used with improved convenience. A catheter (1) is used to measure temperature inside a hollow organ (esophagus (E)) within a body and is provided with: a catheter tube (11) having a front end flexible section (11A) configured to be operated in a deflecting manner, the catheter tube (11) also having a base end section (11B) disposed on the base end side of the front end flexible section (11A); and one or more temperature sensors (51-55) arranged on the front end flexible section (11A). The base end section (11B) has: a first base end section (11B1) disposed on the front end flexible section (11A) side; and a second base end section (11B2) disposed on the base end side of the first base end section (11B1) and having lower rigidity (Sb2) than the first base end section (11B1).
