Abstract:
A method for manufacturing a cathode active material is provided. The method for manufacturing a cathode active material comprises the steps of: preparing a cathode active material precursor including nickel; mixing and firing the cathode active material precursor and lithium salt to prepare preliminary cathode active material particles; dry-mixing a coating source comprising fluorine and the preliminary cathode active material particles to form a coating material comprising fluorine on the preliminary cathode active material particles; and heat-treating the preliminary cathode active material particles having the coating material formed thereon to produce cathode active material particles.
