The present invention relates to a cathode active material, a method for preparing same, an electrode comprising same, and a lithium secondary battery comprising same, the cathode active material comprising a secondary particle in which primary particles are aggregated, wherein each of the primary particles comprises: a core comprising silicon and/or a silicon compound; and a surface layer disposed on the surface of the core and comprising carbon, wherein the core has an average diameter (D50) of 0.5㎛ to 20㎛.
