Abstract:
The present invention relates to a cathode additive for a lithium secondary battery, and a method for preparing a cathode additive for a lithium secondary battery, comprising the steps of: (1) generating FeOOH by mixing and reacting Fe(NO3)3·9H2O and a reducing agent represented by the following chemical formula 1; and (2) generating a FeOOH-carbon composite by mixing the FeOOH generated in step (1) and a carbon nanostructure. [Chemical formula 1] M1(BH4)X In chemical formula 1, M1 is any one selected from Li, Na, Mg, K and Ca, and X is 1 or 2.
