Abstract:
[Problem] The present invention addresses the problem of providing a cathode electrode for metal-air batteries or hydrogen peroxide fuel cells.
[Configuration] The present invention provides a cathode electrode for metal-air batteries or hydrogen peroxide fuel cells, the cathode electrode being formed of copper metal or an alloy thereof and having a function of decomposing hydrogen peroxide and/or hydroxy ions in a water-soluble electrolyte solution that contains hydrogen peroxide. This cathode electrode exhibits electron conductivity with respect to an anode electrode via an electric double layer capacitor, which is formed between itself and the anode electrode, and is able to achieve the activation of a reaction.
