Abstract:
A cathode-ray tube has an antireflection film (4) on the outer surface of a face panel (1). The antireflection film (4) comprises a transparent conductive layer (2) containing at least either a colored ITO or a colored ATO and a coloring material having a color complementary to the color of the colored ITO or ATO and a layer (3) mainly made of SiO¿2? and formed on the transparent conductive layer (2). The particle size of the colored ITO and/or ATO ranges from 10 to 500 nm. The coloring material may be a dye having a maximum absorption peak in the wavelength band from 550 to 600 nm. The surface resistivity of the antireflection film is desirably below 1 x 10?6¿ $g(V)/sq. Such a cathode-ray tube is effectively prevented from leaking electromagnetic waves, exhibits an improved contrast, and has a preferable body color.
