Abstract:
Provided is a cause estimation apparatus that accurately estimates a cause of occurrence of a phenomenon when the phenomenon occurs. The cause estimation apparatus comprises: an acquisition unit for acquiring a measurement value of a subject device; a likelihood calculation unit for calculating the likelihood of occurrence of each of a plurality of phenomena when assumed that the plurality of phenomena that possibly occur in the subject device are caused by a common cause, on the basis of the measurement value acquired by the acquisition unit; a table storage unit storing a cause table in which, for each of the plurality of phenomena, the cause of occurrence of the phenomenon is associated with the frequency of the cause of the occurrence; and an estimation unit which rewrites the frequency stored in the cause table with the frequency when assumed that the plurality of phenomena are caused by the common cause, and estimates the cause of the occurrence, on the basis of the rewritten cause table, and the likelihood.
