Abstract:
When a culture medium is supplied together with a cell to a container (1) and cells are cultured, a liquid content of the container (1) is stirred by repeating an upward motion step for moving the container (1) to a position higher than the initial position thereof, and a downward motion step for returning the upwardly moved container (1) to the initial position thereof and imparting vibration to the container (1) returned to the initial position. Stirring is thereby performed so that the distribution of cells or the component concentration of the culture medium is made uniform while damage to the cells due to shearing stress thereof is minimized, a good culture environment is maintained, adhesion of cells to an inside wall and excessive aggregation of cells are suppressed by the stirring, and cell proliferation is promoted.
