Title:
CELL HOLDING CONTAINER AND MEASUREMENT SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2020/189172
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
This measurement system (1) is for measuring the electrical characteristics of cells that are held in a cell holding container (10). The measurement system (1) comprises: a first terminal (21), a second terminal (22) and a third terminal (23) that are connected respectively to a working electrode (11), a counter electrode 12 and a reference electrode (13), said electrodes being disposed in the cell holding container (10); a voltage source that applies a voltage between the first terminal (21) and the second terminal (22); a voltage monitoring circuit (30) that monitors the voltage applied between the first terminal (21) and the third terminal (23); and a current detection circuit (40) that detects the current flowing through the first terminal (23). Owing to this configuration, the release of a neural voltage substance in measurement target cells can be detected by applying a voltage between the working electrode (11) and the counter electrode (12) and measuring the voltage between the working electrode (11) and the reference electrode (13) and the current flowing through the working electrode (11). Thus, a neurotransmitter of nerve cells can be measured by applying a conventional multiple microelectrode array method.
