CELL LINEAGE EXTRACTING METHOD

A cell lineage is structured with the help of a computer in a short time with a saved labor. A method comprising a step of picking up two-dimensional images of different focal planes and times of a cell to be observed while varying the focal plane and while the time is elapsing, a step of extracting a cell nucleus area from each two-dimensional image by image processing, a step of combining cell nucleus areas concerning the same cell nucleus from among the extracted cell nucleus areas, and a step of structuring a cell lineage from combined cell nucleus areas on the basis of the information about the times and positions when and where the cell nucleus areas appear and disappear in the images.
