Abstract:
Provided are a cell selection method, a cell reselection method and a chip, which can improve the user experience. The cell selection method comprises: a terminal device searching for a first candidate cell and receiving a system message of the first candidate cell, wherein the system message comprises parameter information of the first candidate cell and bandwidth information of the first candidate cell, and the bandwidth information is used for indicating a bandwidth of the first candidate cell; the terminal device determining, according to a cell measurement value, and the parameter information of the first candidate cell, a cell selection receiving level value Srxlev and a cell selection quality value Squal of the first candidate cell, and determining Srxlev>0, Squal>0; and insofar as the bandwidth of the first candidate cell is greater than a preset threshold value, the terminal device residing in the first candidate cell.
