Abstract:
The present invention provides a cellulose monolith production method and a white cellulose monolith comprising colored particles, the cellulose monolith production method characterized by: producing a cellulose monolth by bringing a cellulose acylate solution into contact with a medium containing water and a deacylation agent, thereby deacylating the cellulose acylate solution by solvent exchange with the water, or bringing a cellulose formate solution into contact with a medium containing water and a deformylation agent, thereby deformylating the cellulose formate solution by solvent exchange with the water; and heat treating the cellulose monolith in the presence of urea and phosphoric acid (salt).
