[PROBLEMS] To provide a cement dispersant that realizes high water reducing performance, low setting retardation and low concrete viscosity, taking applicability into account. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] There is provided a cement dispersant comprised of a polycarboxylic acid polymer composed of structural unit (I) consisting of a reactive alcohol alkylene oxide adduct and structural unit (II) consisting of a reactive dibasic acid, preferably added with structural unit (III) containing a polyamidopolyamine therein, wherein the structural unit (II) utilizes fumaric acid and/or its derivative as a partial or main raw material. Thus, there can be provided a cement dispersant based on a polycarboxylic acid polymer that excels in water reducing performance, setting retardation and concrete viscosity.
