Abstract:

Provided are: a center drum type gravure printing apparatus having a plurality of gravure plate cylinders in which there is no formation of volatile organic compounds, there is no printing misalignment, only a small installation space is needed, and the apparatus is suitable for multicolor printing; and a gravure printing method and a method for manufacturing a printed article that use the apparatus. The center drum type gravure printing apparatus comprises a center drum, a guiding means for introducing a material to be printed to the drum surface and guiding the material so as to be ejected from the drum surface, a plurality of gravure plate cylinders provided with gravure cells in the plate surfaces, ink chambers provided to the plate surfaces of the gravure plate cylinders so as to supply electron beam curable ink to the gravure cells of the gravure plate cylinders, and an electron beam irradiation means for curing ink transferred to the material to be printed from the gravure cells that have been supplied with the ink, the electron beam irradiation means being positioned on the downstream side of the guided material to be printed.
