Abstract:
Reduction in energy loss, noise and vibration at the time of a small flowrate operation of a centrifugal compressor is realized and an operating flowrate on the side of small flowrates is increased in range. A flow control device (7) for controlling a suction flowrate comprises a split flow control plate (5) rotatable between a direction perpendicular to a suction flow passage (4) and a direction parallel to the suction flow passage, and a drive source (6) for drivingly rotating the flow control plate (5) sections in opposite directions to each other. Vanes (8) provided on a diffuser (2) are arranged such that a distance between a leading edge of a vane (8) and a surface of another vane (8) adjacent to the former vane (8) is minimum between the leading edge of the former vane (8) and a trailing edge of the other vane (8) adjacent to the former vane (8).
