Abstract:
This centrifugal compressor is provided with: a rotating shaft; an impeller; a housing provided with a first chamber, a second chamber lower in pressure than the first chamber, and a partitioning wall that partitions the first chamber and the second chamber and has a through-hole through which the rotating shaft is inserted; and a seal member that is provided inside the housing and that restricts a fluid from flowing from the first chamber through the through-hole into the second chamber. The seal member has a gas seal part and a support part, and when the rotating shaft rotates, the gas seal part encircles the outer peripheral surface of the rotating shaft from the radially outer side of the rotating shaft in a state of non-contact such that a gap is formed between the gas seal part and the outer peripheral surface of the rotating shaft by dynamic pressure produced when the rotating shaft rotates, and the support part supports the gas seal part in such a manner that allows the gas seal part to move in a direction intersecting the axial direction of the rotating shaft.
