Description:
CENTRIFUGAL PUMP ASSEMBLY The present innovation refers to a constructive device introduced in a motorpump, which comprises a non-shielded motor, that is, an open motor of techno-functional characteristics distinct from the shielded models, being light and having sensibly reduced costs.

Currently, there are many types and models of electric motors manufactured and developed by several different manufacturers. Some of them are of greater power and heavy, others are less powerful and lighter.

They can also be open or closed, which does not mean that they have greater or smaller power, but that the electric motor is either protected or not against weather conditions and offers greater or smaller risk of electrical shock to the user.

The aforementioned open motors have an advantage over the closed ones in relation to weight and manufacturing or retail cost. They are commonly used in home appliances which are already protected against electrical shock and short circuit by their cabinets that completely involve the motors.

To make a motorpump, one has to join an electrical motor to an hydraulic pump. However, the electric motor has to be obligatorily closed, that is, shielded in its electric body to avoid problems such as electrical shock or short circuit. The constructive configuration, on the other hand, turns the motorpump into a product of extremely heavy structure due to the shielding, that is, the motor cover and its components are of metallic materials where the specific weight is big. They also require anti-corrosive treatment and the motor cover needs painting.

Thinking of the aforementioned difficulties and disadvantages found in the current motorpump, we have developed a constructive device

which is introduced in a motorpump and which main goal is to use an open- concept electric motor connected to an hydraulic pump so that the motorpump set becomes light and its performance is not impaired.

Another goal of this innovation is to provide a motorpump set of reduced cost and easy assembly.

One more goal of this innovation is to provide the open motor with a resistant insulation cover of synthetic material and light structure that can be coupled to the posterior portion of the hydraulic pump and be accommodated to the front and rear flanges that receive the electric rotor and its elements, which compose the open motor.

Other goals and advantages of the said innovation are achieved through the constructive device introduced in the motorpump. It basically comprises a set containing an open motor coupled to the hydraulic pump that receives the superposition of a synthetic-material cover that involves it to the area it is coupled to the posterior portion of the said hydraulic pump, thus forming the motorpump set.

The present innovation is a new constructive device of patent requested Utility Model MU 7901404-6, of the applicant itself. It contains, however, some improvements in the arrangement of the flanges and their constructive device.

To better define the model, see the attached figures: Fig. 1-Total cut view of the constructive device introduced in the motorpump.

Fig. 2-Exploded total cut view of the constructive device introduced in the motorpump.

Fig. 3-Front view and in A-A cut of the front flange of the constructive device introduced in the motorpump.

Fig. 4-Front view and in B-B cut of the rear flange of the constructive device introduced in the motorpump.

According to the figures above, the aforementioned innovation is made of a set (1) comprised of one hydraulic pump (2) which has internally a centrifugal rotor (3) connected to one end of the shaft (4) and on the other end of the shaft (4) there is a fan (5), an open motor (6) placed between the rear flange (7) and the front flange (8), all of them passed over by the said shaft (4).

The front flange (8) is comprised of a cylindrical disk (9) that has in its central portion a projection (10) which has a posterior counterbore (11) and an anterior counterbore (12) of smaller dimension and, between them, an open hole (13). The projection (10) has an open hole (13a) on one of its side portions to drain occasional entry of water through the mechanical seal that seals the shaft (4).

The front flange (8) has at its anterior portion at least two shoulders (14) provided with threaded holes (15) where at least one of those shoulders (14) presents greater dimension than the other shoulder (14) and is provided with a side hole (28). At its posterior portion, it presents an internal counterbore (16) and side extension (17) provided with threaded holes (18).

The rear flange (7) is comprised of a disk (19) that has a central projection (20), which counterbore (21) has an open hole (22); the upper portion of the flange (7) has internal lateral contour (23) forming a diametral edge (24), and the lower portion of the flange (7) has in its external lateral contour (25), diametral rims (26) comprising open holes (27).

Involving the fan (5), rear flange (7), open motor (6), front flange (8), centrifugal rotor (3), shaft (4) and the components pertaining to the motor (6) there is an insulation cover (29) with ventilation openings (30) which is placed together with the posterior portion of the hydraulic pump (2), being fixed

to it and to the shoulders (14) side holes (28) of the front flange (8) to insulate the motor from the external environment and to make it light.

The said insulation cover (29) presents a structured body to support the motorpump set.

The said innovation is not only about an open electric motor that is later involved by a cover of another type of material. It is about an electric motor of reduced cost without shielding, that is, open and that is involved by a synthetic material cover at reduced cost, which protects the motor from weather conditions and the user from electric shocks. Also, it allows the said insulation cover to perfectly couple to the hydraulic pump and over the motor, integrating itself to the motorpump set.
