Abstract:

A centrifugal blood pump device comprising: an impeller (10) provided within a blood chamber (7); first and second permanent magnets (15, 17) provided to one surface and the other surface, respectively, of the impeller (10); third permanent magnets (16) provided to the inner wall of the blood chamber (7); and magnetic bodies (18) and coils (20) for rotationally driving the impeller (10) through a partition wall (6). First and second dynamic pressure grooves (23, 24) having different shapes and depths are formed in the inner wall of the blood chamber (7), said inner wall facing the impeller (10). Third and fourth dynamic pressure grooves (21, 22) having different shapes and depths are formed in the partition wall (6) facing the impeller (10). The second and fourth dynamic pressure grooves (24, 22) generate high dynamic pressure when the impeller (10) is started to rotate. The first and third dynamic pressure grooves (23, 21) generate high dynamic pressure when the impeller (10) is being steadily rotated.
