Abstract:
A centrifugal pump capable of solving various problems which would otherwise have been caused in centrifugal pumps having an impeller rotatably received within a casing formed with a suction port and a discharge port and made of stainless steel. According to the invention, a centrifugal pump comprises a casing (C) formed with a suction port (I) and a discharge port (E) and made of stainless steel and an impeller (1- 1-7) rotatably received within the casing (C), with the pump (P) and drive means (M) arranged vertically. A working fluid is a water mixed with foreign matters (EJ, EJ-1), and a semi-open type impeller and a closed impeller are constructed so that they can be interchanged with each other. If vanes can be interchanged depending upon a kind of foreign matters or a kind of wastes mixed in a water being treated, a demand to use a variety of impellers for the same casing can be met. Further, even when the vanes are interchanged by different ones, a substantial change in an amount of foreign matters passing through the pump does not occur.
