Abstract:

The present invention relates to a centrifugal pump for transferring a liquid which includes a fibrous material. This centrifugal pump is provided with: an impeller (1) which integrally rotates with a rotational shaft (11); and an impeller casing (5) provided with an intake port (3) and a volute chamber (7). The inner surface of the impeller casing (5) has, formed therein, a groove (18) which extends from the intake port (3) to the volute chamber (7). The impeller (1) is provided with: a hub (13) to which the rotational shaft (11) is fixed; and swept-back blades (2) which extend helically from the hub (13). The swept-back blades (2) are provided with: front edge portions (2a) which extend helically from the hub (13); and rear edge portions (2b) which extend helically from the front edge portions (2a). The front edge portions (2a) are provided with front-side curved surfaces (2e) formed from the inner ends (2c) to the outer ends (2d) of the front edge portions (2a).
