CENTRING DEVICE AND CENTRING METHOD

Disclosed are a centring method and device which are capable of stably carrying out centring on a work piece and wherein the overall device is simplified. Centring is carried out on a work piece (W) by the application of impulsive force to the work piece (W) by means of a hammer means (25). The device is provided with a rotation table (1) for rotating the work piece (W) and a control means (81) for calculating the striking force applied to the work piece (W) and the striking force which is secondly applied to the work piece (W) in order to revise the present eccentricity amount of the work piece (W) on the basis of the movement amount of the work piece (W) due to the first striking force. The hammer means (25) strikes the work piece (W) with the striking forces calculated by the control means (81).
