Abstract:

A cephalosporin compound represented by general formula (I) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, a process for producing the same, and a medicinal use thereof, especially, as a preventive or remedy for infectious diseases, wherein each symbol is as defined in the specification; and a 7-aminocephalosporin compound represented by general formula (II) or a salt thereof, wherein each symbol is as defined in the specification. The cephalosporin compound and salt thereof are excellent in the antibacterial activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria and also in the absorbability through the digestive tract, thus being useful as a preventive or remedy for infectious diseases. The 7-aminocephalosporin compound and salt thereof are novel intermediate compounds utilizable in the production of the above cephalosporin compound.
