Abstract:
Provided is a ceramic for decorative parts, which exhibits not only excellent wear resistance and high hardness but also high rigidity and has a golden color tone capable of giving a user a sense of luxuriousness, a feeling of aesthetic satisfaction, and mental serenity over a long period. Also provided are decorative parts consisting of the ceramic. The ceramic comprises titanium nitride as the main component, and contains at least one oxide selected from a group consisting of aluminum oxide and zirconium oxide, nickel, chromium carbide, and molybdenum carbide. The ceramic exhibits not only excellent wear resistance and high hardness but also high rigidity, and has a golden color tone capable of giving a consumer a sense of luxuriousness, a feeling of aesthetic satisfaction, and mental serenity over a long period. The ceramic is suitable for use in decorative parts for fishing line guides, watches, mobile terminals, living necessaries, car accessories, sporting goods, musical instruments, and personal ornaments.
