Abstract:
Provided is a piezoelectric device having a highly reliable join between external electrodes and a low-melting-point solder. This piezoelectric device is a sintered body comprising a main body section and the external electrodes. The external electrodes comprise surface electrodes that cover the upper and lower surfaces of the main body section and side surface electrodes that cover the side surfaces of the main body section and connect to the surface electrodes. This piezoelectric device is obtained by co-firing all constituent members. The surface electrodes comprise platinum (Pt) or palladium (Pd). The side surface electrodes also comprise platinum (Pt) or palladium (Pd). In addition, the side surface electrodes contain gold (Au). The gold content in the side surface electrodes is ideally 3-20 wt%.
