Abstract:
This ceramic filter is provided with a porous substrate which "is a ceramic material and has separating walls defining and forming cells that extend from one end surface to the other end surface," separation membranes which "are arranged on wall surfaces in the cell," and a glass seal which "is arranged on one end surface and the other end surface in a state in which the openings of the cells are not blocked," wherein the glass seal comprises glass and inorganic particles dispersed in the glass, the material of the inorganic particles is a clay, and the ratio of the heat expansion coefficient of the glass seal to the heat expansion coefficient of the porous substrate is 90% or less. In this way, a ceramic filter is provided which can be used for long periods of time in high-temperature conditions.
