Abstract:
To reduce the production cost by simplifying the production process in comparison to conventional ones.
A ceramic heater-type glow plug (1) which is provided with: a ceramic heater (11); and an outer cylinder (12) that is formed of a metal, and has one end part to which the ceramic heater is joined by means of a brazing filler material (175) and the other end part which is affixed to a housing (14). The outer cylinder has a metal layer (122) on the surface, said metal layer (122) improving the wettability for the brazing filler material in comparison to the material of the outer cylinder. A coating layer (123) is formed on the surface of the metal layer at one end part of the outer cylinder, said coating layer (123) lowering the wettability for the brazing filler material in comparison to the metal layer.
