Abstract:

A ceramic honeycomb filter which has a ceramic honeycomb fired material having porous partition walls dividing flow paths and sealing sections formed at prescribed flow paths and removes fine particles from the exhaust gas passing through the porous partition walls, wherein the ceramic honeycomb fired material comprises a ceramic material containing cordierite as a main component and at least a part of the sealing sections contains ceramic particles and an amorphous oxide matrix, the amorphous oxide matrix being formed from a colloidal oxide.
