Abstract:
A ceramic honeycomb structural body, comprising a cell composite body partitioned by a plurality of partition walls of porous structure and formed of a plurality of cells forming a fluid flow passage and an outer wall of porous structure surrounding and holding the outermost peripheral cells positioned on the outermost periphery of the cell composite body, characterized in that the portions of the partition walls positioned at at least one cell opening end part of the cell composite body form a reinforced partition wall part higher in strength than those (normally partition wall parts) other than the at least one cell opening end part and having a variation in porosity per unit volume of within ± 2%, whereby a uniform and excellent erosion resistance can be provided to the entire part of the reinforced partition wall part.
