Abstract:
The present invention improves the adhesion between a substrate and a coating layer. This ceramic member (101) has a substrate (102) that contains alumina and tungsten carbide, and a coating layer (103) that is formed on the surface of the substrate (102) and that is formed from a compound having a NaCl-based crystal structure. In the ceramic member (101), the value of a peak intensity ratio (IA/IB) is 1.0 or higher, where IA is the peak intensity belonging to the (111) plane of the compound, and IB is the peak intensity belonging to the (200) plane of the compoun, when the coating layer (103) is measured by X-ray analysis.
