Abstract:
Provided is a ceramic structure having a plurality of prism-shaped porous ceramic members 20 which are bundled up with an adhesion layer being interposed therebetween, the porous ceramic members 20 each having a large number of through holes which are separated by partition walls and arranged side by side and along a longitudinal direction, wherein a plurality of first spacers 18 formed on a first side surface 20a of each porous ceramic member 20 and defining a first plane 25a facing the first side surface 20a, and a plurality of second spacers 19 formed on a second side surface 20b of each porous ceramic member 20 and defining a second plane 25b facing the second side surface 20b and perpendicular to the first plane, are included between the porous ceramic members 20, and each porous ceramic member 20 has a predetermined height from each of the first plane 25a and the second plane 25b so that even when the perpendicularity of any of the porous ceramic members is imperfect the adhesion layers for bundling up the plurality of porous ceramic members have a uniform thickness.
