Abstract:

A chain saw (10) is provided with a body casing (11), a guide bar (21) which is provided so as to protrude from the body casing (11), a saw chain (22) which is rotatably mounted around the periphery of the guide bar (21), an electric motor (23) which rotates the saw chain (22), and a top handle (12) which is provided on the upper part of the body casing (11) so as to extend in the front-rear direction. Battery packs (31) are mounted to the body casing (11), the battery packs (31) serving as the power source (30) which supplies electric power to the electric motor (23). The battery packs (31) are disposed on the body casing (11) in such a manner that, in a rear view of the chain saw (10), the center of gravity (G) of the chain saw (10) is located within the range (R) of two times the length (W), measured in the left-right direction, of the grip (12a) of the top handle (12) from the centerline (Cw) of the grip (12a) in the left-right direction, the centerline (Cw) extending in the vertical direction.
