Title:
CHAIN SAW
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2017/056811
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a chain saw configured so that grinding of the blade sections of a saw chain can be performed with a simple method, and so that sparks generated when grinding do not fly to the outside. Provided is a flying-spark prevention means for preventing the flying of sparks generated by a grinding stone (65) when grinding the blade sections. By using an operation lever (61), the grinding stone can be moved within a space covered by a body housing (2) and a side cover. The flying-spark prevention means is near the grinding stone and includes a first blocking member (57) which juts out above the saw chain (12) and a second blocking member (56) which juts out below the saw chain. The blocking members enable the sparks generated when grinding the saw chain to be significantly suppressed from flying outside of the side cover. The first and second blocking members can be moved in the left or right direction by the operation of a lock lever. In addition, the lock lever serves as a stopper for stopping movement of the grinding stone when the flying-spark prevention means is not being operated.
