Abstract:
Provided is a wheelchair having a link mechanism that operates in conjunction with the reclining mechanism to increase the opening angle between the seatback and chair seat and lowers the rear portion of the chair seat to maintain a comfortable posture for the chair user without causing forward slippage. A chair seat frame (5) is pivotably connected at the rear edge thereof to a seatback frame (4) and the seatback frame (4) is reciprocably supported at the lower edge thereof by a body frame (1) via a connection frame (14). A piston tip of a gas spring (10) having a mechanism for locking the front-back movement of the piston is connected to a pivot point (16) of the seatback frame (4) and connection frame (14). This enables the lower edge of the seatback frame (4) to be fixedly supported by the locking mechanism.
