Abstract:
The present invention uses a configuration in which the following are provided: a backrest (6) having a receiving surface component (20) that comes into contact with a sitter and receives a load; a backrest support member (7) that supports the backrest (6) from behind; and a curved-shape changing means (8) that changes the curved shape of the receiving surface component (20) by relatively moving, forward and backward, a center part (24) and both end parts (25), which are all in the width direction, of the backrest (6). In addition, the present invention is a chair (111) including a backrest (106), and uses a configuration in which the backrest (106) has the following: a frame member that has openings (27) in a frame and is deformable so that a center part and end parts in the width direction can be relatively moved forward and backward; and a tensioned member (122) which is provided to the openings (27) in a tensioned manner and which is configured so as to be divided into a left-right tensioned region (T11) in which a tensioned region that is in the width direction and is provided to the openings (27) in a tensioned manner is deformed conforming to the deformation of the frame member, and into a center tensioned region (T12) that is not as deformed, relatively, as the left-right tensioned region (T11).
