Abstract:

A chair that: has a seat that moves forward/rearward and right/left; and is suitably supported by a simple structure. A chair in which a forward/rearward rocking part (3) that is a mobile part that moves upon receiving a seated load can move forward/rearward and right/left via a right/left rocking part (4) that is a support part, wherein flanges (31b) are provided to vertical surfaces (31a) of plate materials (MP) of the forward/rearward rocking part, i.e., the mobile part, the flanges having guide surfaces (31b1) that extend in the horizontal direction and allow rotary bodies (45) to move in the longitudinal direction, the horizontal-direction dimension of the guide surfaces being greater than the thickness of the plate materials, the portions of the plate materials formed by the flanges and the vertical surface therearound being integrally formed from metal, the flanges being formed to go once around guide holes (34) that open in the vertical surfaces, and the rotary bodies (45) being provided to the right and left so as to be capable of independent rotation along the guide surfaces.
