Abstract:
The present invention relates to a replaceable rotating cutting plate which comprises throw-away cutting edges and is intended for fitting the teeth of worm-type gear-cutting instruments. The cutting edges of the plate include modified sections which modify the geometrical profile of the plate initial shape up to the profile of the tooth of the worm-type instrument. The modified cutting edges are inclined relative to the initial shape at an angle defined by the formula $g(f)¿d? = $g(p)/2 + $g(a)¿o? - $g(f)¿u? where $g(a)¿o? is the profile angle in radians of the worm-type instrument tooth on a given section and $g(f)¿u? is the profile angle in radians of the initial geometrical shape which is defined by the relation $g(f)¿u? = $g(p)/n (n-2), n representing the number of sides of the initial geometrical shape. The tops of the modified cutting edges, which are connected to the base of the worm-type instrument tooth, may comprise flanking protruding sections for cutting an allowance undercut on the head or the root of the article tooth.
