Title:
CHARA CORALINA-DERIVED CHEXP GENE AND USE THEREFOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2018/080031
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a Chara coralina-derived ChEXP gene and a use therefor. The present invention has demonstrated that a protein called Chara Expansin protein of Chara coralina, which is a lower-rank organism of terrestrial plants, increases seed germination efficiency under environmental stress conditions of plants. By using the gene of the present invention, plants of which germination has been promoted even under environmental stress conditions can be created. Additionally, in the future, germination of horticultural crops can be promoted even in environments such as drought, thereby enabling flowers and seeds to be obtained in a short time even under environmental stress.
